Grapeseed Oil as a Heat Protectant
You may have read one of my earlier post about Grapeseed Oil, if not check it out here. In that post I wrote about some of the benefits of Grapeseed Oil. One thing I did not mention is that Grapeseed Oil is an amazing all natural heat protectant. Why? Because it can actually withstand high heat (about 420 degrees). Need more reasons to try grapeseed oil:
- It absorbs into hair without weighing it down
- Excellent for moisture and shine
- It is known for having a high content of linoleic acid which is an important fatty acid that supports cell health.
- Most importantly, it’s fairly inexpensive!
Results of Flat Ironing with Grapeseed Oil

Hair has been washed, conditioned, twisted, and allowed to be air dried. Do you see the grapeseed oil in the background?

Twist have been removed, hair is finger combed, applied grapeseed oil, and used a wide tooth comb to detangle and ensure that the oil has been spread evenly through each section of hair.

Hair has been flat-ironed, small 1/2 inch sections at a time. I used flexi rods to curl the hair...see that SHINE!
