If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you may know that I post pictures of Lil Naturelles all the time. Come on, I’m a mommy blogger that believes in promoting the beauty of our little ones….any who, I stumbled upon this stunning Lil Naturelle and had to not only post her picture, but find out who she was. Posting her picture was the start of a viral sharing via Facebook, twitter, instagram, and so much more… To date, this picture has been shared on Facebook over 784 times with over 5130 likes! If that’s not viral, tell me what is.
Without further ado, let me introduce Lil Naturelle – Aaliyah
UAN: Tell us about your Lil’ Naturelle
Aaliyah Dior… is called by many nicknames, little footz, punkendew, squeekz. You can’t tell by the pictures but she is a shy 2 year old & loves her family.
UAN: What’s your Lil’ Naturelle’s hair care routine—ie—wash, condition, deep condition, detangling…
Aaliyah has very thick curly hair. I have used Johnson’s baby lotion on her hair ever since she was a newborn. I’ve used Johnson’s baby shampoo on her and still do for the most part. The lotion acts as a detangler and moisturizer. (UAN – WOW, I didn’t know that!) I found it to be safe because it didn’t have all the chemicals that most hair care products have. I recently tried Kids Organics by Africa’s Best Extra Olive Oil + Shea Butter Detangling Moisturizing Hair Lotion. It leaves her hair so soft and it really detangles her hair. Keep in mind that Aaliyah has super thick hair and she is Tender Headed. So doing her hair is not fun for her. But this product makes it a breeze. I must admit that it works better than the baby lotion. My only thing is that with this product after a day or two her hair loses its sheen. Never the less I still like the product, it gets the job done. I use it after a wash and it simply works. I style with twists, braids, or pony tails. The style Aaliyah has in the picture is a flat twist out. My sister, Nakeia, flat twisted her hair and a few days later I took it out . I’m looking for a way to make the styles last for more than a day. If anyone has any ideas I’d love to try it. I have two other daughters and two sons to try it on…..
UAN: Do you have an actual hair day—what’s that like?
I try to do Aaliyah’s hair everyday so she can get used to getting it combed. She loves to look pretty but hates getting her hair done. (UAN – seems like all Lil Naturelles hate getting there hair done 
)
UAN: Favorite hair products if any
I haven’t tried many but I’m open to suggestions. For now it’s Johnson’s baby shampoo, Johnson’s baby lotion, and Kids Organics Shea Butter Detangling Moisturizing hair lotion. I fluctuate between the two.
UAN: What if your daughter says—mom / dad—”I want to relax my hair?” What would you say—tell us your thoughts?
I would tell her to embrace her natural hair. It’s the Crown that the Most High has given you. It’s healthy and strong. And if its swing you’re looking for, that can be achieved without relaxing it. Then I would show her what a relaxer has done to my hair, and what I had to do to get my Crown back.

All styles, pony tails, braids, twist outs and braid outs.
UAN: Hair care tips for other parents
It’s good to try new things. That is how you’ll find what works for you. It can be a bit pricy but once you find what works stick to it. Talking to others and finding out what styles can be done is a fun journey. The kids will love to see that their black is beautiful no matter what style their hair is in.
