Product Review – Coco Curls Moisturizing Styling Cream

Hi All!  This review is long overdue and it’s entirely my fault.  It’s not because I didn’t use the product – as a matter of fact, I’ve used it so much, I even offered some to my cousin for her daughter’s hair!  The issue is – I couldn’t find the pictures that I took when using the product, and what fun is a review without pictures???

So, let’s get started!

Product Information:

$15 for an 8oz jar or $25 for a 16 oz jar

Ingredients: Aloe Vera Juice, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil, Cetearyl Olivate and Sorbitan Olivate, Hydroxypropyl trimonium Honey, Lactobacillus Ferment, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil (and) Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract,  Dehydroxanthan Gum, Fragrance Oils

Product Details:

This product boast to be your all in one product!

Directions for Use:

  1. Wash with moisturizing shampoo
  2. Condition well and detangle with a wide tooth comb
  3. Rinse and apply a quarter size amount of Coco Curls Moisturizing Cream to each section of hair as you style

What does it look like?

The product is creamy and yellowish in color.  My silly Lil’ Naturelle was convinced it smelled like mustard – but when I was fortunate enough to meet Jeanelle (the mastermind mind behind Coco Curls) she told me that the scent is vanilla!

My Experience

When I received this product I was eager to try it on my daughter’s hair.  She goes swimming on a weekly basis and even though I take extreme care to maintain moisture – sometimes I feel like it is a losing battle with the chlorine.

After her swimming lesson, I washed and deep conditioned her hair.  I decided that I would do two strand twist on her hair as a protective style.  Since I am normally heavy handed with products, I was so happy to read that I could actually apply a quarter size to each section of hair!

Below are the pictures of her hair while and after the style was complete.

A few days after applying the product, I tested a section of Lil’ Naturelle’s hair to see if I needed to refresh her hair in any way (to add additional moisture if needed) and to my surprise, I didn’t need to do anything!  Let me tell you – I was pleasantly surprised at the results of this product.

Rating?

I really liked this product.  I was able to get great results on Lil’ Naturelle’s hair.  The product didn’t weigh her hair down of feel sticky (like some stylers do).  Her hair remained soft the entire time I had the two strand twist in.

Even though the directions claimed to use on wet hair, I applied this to Lil’ Naturelle’s hair a few weeks later to add moisture to a day old twist out – and yet again Coco Curls came to the rescue!

Would I purchase this product on my own?  YES! It’s that simple!

Do you use Swimmer’s shampoo on her hair?

I’ve tried the swimmer’s shampoo and really don’t see a difference, and sorry to say, but paying more for a product that doesn’t benefit me – just doesn’t work for me. Have you tried a swimmers shampoo that works?
